This engine is a 5.0 ltr version from a TVR Griffith. When I bought it, it was totally stripped down which allowed me to inspect every part of it. The first thing to be done was to put the bare engine minus its internals into the cortina's engine bay to see what modifications had to be done to get it in what with having the later type serpentine front end fitted to it. The water pump hit the rad so I had to cut back the nose of the pump to get the required clearance.

Fitting out the serpentine front end.

The block has now been cross-bolted, as seen below

The pistons and rods have now been lightened and balanced as well as the crank assembly.
Below are pictures of the TVR head and a vitesse head, you will notice the significant  increase in port sizes.
Genuine group "a" racing rocker assembly with extra
large 22mm dia shafts, forged rockers, billet steel pillars and steel spacers.
Lifter and pushrod to go with the mechanical
cam and
rocker assembly pictured above.
Engine in progress
I will be adding pictures on here as it progresses

The block cleaned and ready for assembly

Crank in place
Checking crankshaft endfloat

This shot shows how little clearance there is between
the crank and bottom of the piston, about 40 thou!

Finding true piston tdc. Dialing the cam in.
This shows the valve cut outs in piston tops. Head assembled.
Timing cover on and ready for head to be installed. Head and rockers on
A big thanks to Ray,Sean and Rob at V8 Developments for all the machining work, surplying the new parts, not to mention all their help and advice.
